On 17th December 1773 colonists angry at the British government for imposing a Tax on imported British Tea converged on Boston wharf and decided to act. A small group of individuals nicknamed 'The Sons of Liberty' boarded three British Ships and hurled over three hundred wooden crates of Tea into Boston harbour.
